My name is Lamar Larry. I've been on AC since August 2011 to February 2014. That's 30 months and I was placed back on 3/31 15-13 minths and still counting> They stated that (A/C) administrative Ocnfinement is a non-punitive status, when its very much so punitive because the difference is very slim. Not only that but punitive status has an out date to get released for segregation while (A/C)Administrative Confinement prisoners get reviewed every 6 months. There's no out date, just reviews and if you compare WCI AC with any other prison's rules it is a 18 months maximum. On A/C at WCI we can  spend years on A/C which is a long term segregation stay. Subjected to mental anguish  and mental health problems with yelling /arguing all day, suicide attempts and having very limited access to a number of things make it very much so punitive- more than the actual punitive status. On June 10th  2016 a group of us on A/C are going on a hunger strike as protest to our mistreatment. As of right now there are 16 or more on A/C who are confined to segregation, which is the primary status of AC. Administrative Confinement is to be in segregation until you are let off..

    1) Robert Lietsch is 28 years old , white male. He came to prison in 2008.   His public defender   expressed concerns with his mental health at his sentencing and worries that he would be in and out because of revocations and since that time has had   two revocations . Each time Robert and his lawyer were assured he would get treatment while incarcerated but that never materialized .    2)He was in a mental institution 4 times before he turned 12 and he says they it helped. “When The DHHS(the Department of Health and Human Services) was involved with my life I made the most advances.” he was diagnosed with lifelong ADHD, bi-Polar, depression, Childhood PTSD, Conduct disorder by the DHHS in years before incarceration   however the DOC refused to recognize his DHHS diagnoses “and only has me as adhd, depressions and anti- personality disorder with borderline personality.”     He states the DOC changes his diagnosis every time he comes back and now he is a   MH-w whereas

Todd Hiivala /recreation OR prison job is choice now given at GBCI

Todd Hiivala 363687 GBCI , PO Box 19033 Green Bay, WI 54307  Inmates forced to choose between recreation and their prison jobs Greetings to all at Community, along with appreciation for the time, hard work and continued advocacy on behalf of those of us housed at this and other Wisconsin correctional institutions. Below find letters I mailed to the DOC Secretary, DAI Administrator and Security Chief in Madison, informing them of GBCI officials' most recent action in forcing those with jobs or in school to relinquish up to half of their constitutionally protected right to recreation. This blatant act of retaliation against 1,100 inmates for the despicable action of a single inmate who assaulted a staff member with hot water is unprecedented. As I pointed out to DCC officials, I've done over a quarter century in a dozen prisons across three states and have never witnessed anything--any assault on the fundamental rights of inmates--as flagrant as this!                     Assaults and Staff Cover-Ups Escalate at Waupun Correctional Institution Waupun, WI – According to recent letters from prisoner contacts, employees of Waupun Correctional Institution are coordinating attacks including extortion and sexual assaults against targeted prisoners. “I been told by three different inmates the last couple of days that staves [staff] are recruiting inmates to give me a good beating before I leave Waupun; if so I will most likely die... since [my] heart is in real bad shape so I thought I had better tell you so if something dire happens to me” prisoner Jim T Smith wrote to outside supporters last Sunday. ( http://bit.ly/2dAQYsw ) According to Peggy Swan of the non-profit organization Forum For Understanding Prisons (FFUP) Jim has been the target of repeated sexual assaults, extortions and violence at the hands of prisoners and staff. “Officer Moungey has been orchestrating assaults by inmates, he opens Smith’s door and lets them in.”
